Basic
Quality and Risk Assessment Packages
The following packages are presented as off-the-shelf
products. Each is designed to give the client the tools
necessary for a routine "check up" of their perfusion
department, policies, procedures and risk management. As with all
Perfusion Quality Servicestm, flexibility exists to accommodate
individual needs.
One Day
Package
Includes the following:
- 8 hours of onsite personal contact
- Observation of perfusion set-up, physical layout of
equipment, procedures and techniques
- Identify opportunities for risk and error reduction
- Interviews with staff
- Review of case records/documents
- Review of any written policies, procedures and other
documents
- Review of any quality management processes
- Review of peri-operative blood management program,
policies and procedures
- Review of clinical competency process
- Comprehensive report of findings and recommendations
provided within seven days of the assessment
- Includes one half day of travel time prior to work at
no additional cost

Two Day
Package
Includes the following:
- 16 total hours of onsite personal contact
(Includes seminar time)
- All activities as in the One Day Package
- Continuing review of areas of particular interest from
Day 1 (Client preference)
- Review of emergency procedures
- Group wet lab to rehearse
and/or establish emergency procedures
- 1-2 hour seminar on reducing error in high risk
environments; A lively lecture that uses real-life
stories of accidents in high risk environments to
demonstrate effective means of minimizing risk in the
medical environment; Appropriate for perfusion, nurses,
anesthesia, risk managers and administration team
members (Could be conducted as a dinner meeting
the night before or an in-service anytime during either
day.)
